Director Of Project Management
The Director of Project Management for the AMCS (Americas) region is a leadership role responsible for managing the execution of projects within a specific Business Unit. This position contributes to the successful delivery of regional projects, impacting $100M+ in annual sales under the guidance of the Senior Director of Project Management. This role ensures project delivery excellence within a defined sub-region (e.g., US, Mexico, Canada) of the AMCS region and develops a high-performing team of Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Project Practitioners, and Site Managers. This position works closely with Engineering, Installation, and the Commercial teams within their sub-region to ensure project success. This role supports the Senior Director in ensuring the team is equipped to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, contributing to the profitability and growth of the Business Unit.
Tasks and Qualifications :
- Lead projects in AMCS region, report to Senior Director, and drive project success with a team.
- Manage the execution of a portfolio of projects within the assigned sub-region, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Lead and develop a team of project management professionals, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Establish and nurture positive relationships with key internal collaborators within the assigned sub-region.
- Implement and enforce project management methodologies and standards within the assigned sub-region.
- Support the Senior Director in managing project budgets and forecasts.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, contributing to the development and implementation of risk mitigation plans.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and standards.
- Serve as a key partner to the Commercial team, supporting their efforts to secure new business and grow existing accounts within the assigned sub-region.
Experience Desired
10+ years of progressive experience in project management.5+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing a team of project professionals.Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.Strong team building and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of project professionals.Strong communication abilities.Ability to develop detailed project schedules inclusive of all in-scope engineering, manufacturing, installation, and integration schedule activities.Experience with personnel planning, budgeting / forecasting, project planning, document control, materials management, and contract management.Experience in using project management software and tools, such as MS Project, Smartsheet, and SAP.Knowledge of the material handling industry is a plus.Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration) or equivalent experience.Master's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred.Additional certifications in project management methodologies are a plus.Direction and Key Working Relationships
Operates under the direction of the Senior Director of Project Management.Key internal collaborators include : Senior Director of Project Management, Engineering, Installation, Commercial teams (within the assigned sub-region).Collaborators include : Customers, strategic partners (within the assigned sub-region).Travel : Up to 30% travel may be required to support project execution and team development within the assigned sub-region.
