Position Summary :
The Event Production Coordinator is responsible for scheduling EP needs in Spence Chapel, Seymour Chapel, and other campus venues and spaces. This includes clarifying audiovisual needs, scheduling setups, tear-downs, and technician support. This position also serves as an all-purpose EP technician for Events across campus.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities :
- Leads student teams in regard to recruiting, scheduling, and carrying out assigned tasks.
- Processes Event Production requests and details in the event management systems used by EU. (EMS, Planning Center, Outlook)
- Assists with training student workers on audio visual equipment and spaces.
- Be an expert on all things event production related in all facilities. It is important that the EP Coordinator be familiar with each building, its equipment, policies, programs, and services and the day-to-day schedule of events.
- Set up and operate audio visual equipment (including live streaming and recording when required) for all events on campus including performances and rehearsals as required.
- Be proficient at setting up and installing equipment such as microphones, sound and video systems, projectors, and recording equipment.
- Assists with routine maintenance of AV equipment.
- Setup and run sound, lights, video, and / or graphics for events / rehearsals as scheduled.
- Provide EP support to night and weekend rehearsals and events on a regular basis.
- Diagnose and correct media system problems.
- Produce the Universities’ Livestream channels (Vimeo).
- Participate in planning committees.
- Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Proven ability in operating audio-visual equipment, including sound systems, graphics projection systems, presentation equipment, general lighting equipment.Experience and aptitude for mixing music.Demonstrated ability to effectively be a team player and manage projects.Demonstrated ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite.Aptitude or experience for using various additional software platforms, such as Adobe, Logic, Pro Tools, Propresenter, etc.Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are a must in regard to effective interactions with fellow team members, and internal and external clients.Effective communication skills to understand and deliver the customer’s need and wants.Must be capable of working independently and be able to take initiative, in addition to good work attendance.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to cultivate positive working relationships with students, employees, and external customers.Ability to remain calm and composed during high pressure / stress situations on a consistent basis.Reasonable electronics skills are desirable to facilitate minor equipment repairs when needed.Strong analytical and problem solving skills when there is not a clear answer.Ability to work varying shifts.Ability to build professional relationships and work collaboratively with individuals of varied cultural, regional, and educational backgrounds.Positive customer-oriented attitude and professional image.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree or demonstrated equivalent Audio Visual experience considered in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.Two years of related experience in Audio Visual Event Production.A demonstrated record of experience in an event multimedia production environment or equivalent.Valid Missouri Drivers LicenseWorking Relationships :
Reports to the Event Production Supervisor and is part of the Conference and Event Services team. Create and maintain good working relations with Evangel University employees, students, clients, and service providers.
