Our client is a $20MM e-commerce distributor that has grown over 40 percent year-over-year for the past three years.

With a robust catalog of over 4,000 SKUs and national distribution reach, the business is scaling quickly. They are now seeking a hands-on accounting leader to step into the role of Accounting Manager or Controller and help solidify the financial foundation for continued growth.

This is not a sit-behind-the-desk role.

It’s a visible position that will require both tactical execution and strategic financial leadership. You’ll play a critical part in driving clarity, improving processes, and helping leadership make informed decisions as the business continues to scale.

What You’ll Do

You will step into a high-impact role with full visibility across the business. Your work will directly influence day-to-day decisions and long-term planning.

Core responsibilities include :

Managing cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet accuracy

• Manage month-end, quarter and year-end close

Analyzing SKU and sales channel profitability to inform pricing and operational decisions

Processing bi-weekly payroll and managing 401(k) reporting

Leading initiatives to automate and optimize accounting functions within NetSuite

Overseeing or collaborating on the implementation of electronic payments and AP automation tools

Managing and mentoring a small team, including AR, AP, and financial reporting staff

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced professional who understands the unique demands of a growth-stage business. The ideal candidate is hands-on, solutions-oriented, and has experience leading accounting functions in small to mid-sized environments.

Key qualifications include :

Strong experience with ERP systems within a distribution-focused environment. Prior experience specifically with NetSuite and work within an e-commerce business will move you to the front of the resume line.

Demonstrated success managing cash flow, reconciliations, and financial accuracy

Deep understanding of profitability analysis across sales channels and product lines

Background in e-commerce, retail, wholesale, or distribution environments

Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to take ownership of diverse accounting responsibilities

Preferred but not required :

Experience leading accounting process overhauls or automation efforts

Exposure to Bill.com or similar AP automation platforms

Prior ownership of payroll and compliance reporting

Top Priorities in the First Six Months

Build a clear, consistent cash flow management process

Take full ownership of item-level and channel-level profitability reporting

Ensure payroll and 401(k) reporting processes are timely, accurate, and compliant

Begin leading process modernization and workflow improvements across accounting functions

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range : $85,000 to $100,000, depending on experience

Medical, dental, and vision insurance with strong employer contribution

Three weeks of paid vacation plus nine paid holidays

401(k) with matching : 3% for 3%, 3.5% for 4%, and 4% for 5%
