Job Details :

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our thriving construction business. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in directing and managing our company's financial planning, budget management, and cost-benefit analysis. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial progress of projects, approving expenses, and conducting job cost analysis to maximize profitability and reduce costs. This position demands a high level of competency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), with a strong emphasis on job costing.

Responsibilities :

1. Oversee all financial operations of the company including AP, AR, job costing, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

2. Prepare financial statements, business activity reports, and forecasts.

3. Monitor financial details to ensure legal compliance.

4. Supervise employees who do financial reporting and budgeting.

5. Review company financial reports and seek ways to reduce costs.

6. Analyze market trends to maximize profits and find expansion opportunities.

7. Help management make financial decisions.

8. Implement and maintain best practices in financial management to increase efficiency and profitability.

9. Develop and manage financial systems and policies.

10. Liaise with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.

11. Create and manage budgets, including for new projects.

12. Collaborate with project managers to develop cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.

Qualifications :

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.

2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is a plus.

3. Proven experience in job costing, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR).

4. Proficiency in financial management software.

5. Excellent mathematical skills.

6. Strong leadership and management skills.

7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

8. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

9. High attention to detail and accuracy.

10. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

11. Excellent understanding of data privacy standards and financial regulations.

12. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
