About the Role
Join our administrative team as an Office Clerk where you'll play a vital role in supporting our Adult Rehabilitation Center's operations. This position combines office administration, bookkeeping, and mission-driven work to support The Salvation Army's life-changing programs in Des Moines.
Pay Rate : $18-20 / Hour
Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM)
Key Responsibilities
General Business Functions
- Assist ARC Administrators with departmental and center-wide communications
- Manage facility and vehicle schedules, including meeting coordination
- Create, record, and submit departmental meeting minutes
- Monitor and order office supplies inventory
- Coordinate office equipment repairs and maintenance
- Provide communication support and assistance to ARC visitors
Bookkeeping & Accounting Functions
Code, review, and submit accounts payable invoices to Regional Accounting TeamFile check copies and related documents according to established proceduresPrepare sales reports and coordinate auto donation processesAssist with internal audit preparationsPrepare invoices for billing, collection, and reconciliationSupport month-end and year-end closing proceduresMaintain petty cash control proceduresManage open accounts receivable filesWhat You'll Need to Succeed
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma requiredAccounting Certificate or 2-year associate's degree in related field preferredMinimum two years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to maintain high level of confidentialitySuperior written and oral communication skillsProficient computer skills including accounting software and Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent time management and organizational skillsAbility to read and interpret financial reportsStrong mathematical and accounting operation skillsPersonal Qualities
