Description : Job Summary

Macedonia Development Corporation, NFP (MDC) is looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Employer Coordinator to join the Illinois Clean Jobs Workforce Network Program in East Saint Louis. This vital position plays a central role in fostering strong partnerships with employers, contractor associations, unions, and contractors; ultimately, driving job placement opportunities for program graduates. The Employer Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Director of Workforce Programs and the Case Workers Team to align training curriculum with industry needs and market trends. As the program expands, the successful candidate will be instrumental in strengthening our placement infrastructure and building sustainable, long-term employer relationships.

About the ESTL Workforce Hub

Powered by funding from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) through the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), the ESTL Workforce Hub is designed to equip job seekers with the tools, training, and support needed to thrive in today’s workforce across our region.

This comprehensive program offers specialized technical training in the clean energy sector, alongside robust job readiness resources including resume development, interview coaching, writing support, and access to industry-recognized certification testing to boost employability.

Participants also benefit from wraparound services tailored to help overcome barriers to success and ensure smooth program completion. Through strategic partnerships with a wide network of hiring employers, we connect individuals to meaningful employment opportunities and foster trusted pathways to career growth within a supportive ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with employers, contractor associations, unions, and contractors.
  • Stay current with industry trends and employer needs to ensure alignment with program goals.
  • Work collaboratively with the Case Worker Team to support successful job placements for program graduates.
  • Significant data entry into Case Management software to follow the lifetime of each participant in the ESTL Workforce Hub, along with follow ups after employment.
  • Match graduates with employment opportunities that align with their skills and career goals.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Workforce Programs to align the curriculum with current industry standards and workforce needs.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for curriculum development as the program evolves.
  • Strengthen and sustain long-term employer partnerships to support ongoing program success.
  • Identify and recommend program improvements based on employer feedback and industry shifts.
  • Work with internal teams to implement enhancements that improve participant outcomes and program effectiveness.
  • Offer continued support to ensure program graduates transition successfully into the workforce and achieve long-term job retention.

Requirements : Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Human Resources, Education, etc.) preferred.
  • Preferred - proven employer relationships in the clean energy industry
  • Preferred - proven experience in employer relations, job placement, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development and administration is an advantage.
  • Ability to adapt to changing industry demands and foster positive relationships.
  • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS / INFORMATION

  • Will work in an educational environment, collaborating closely with students, educators, and administrators. Flexibility in scheduling may be required to accommodate student needs.
  • Must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Please note that this position includes paid time off (PTO) but does not currently include a comprehensive benefits package, such as medical insurance or retirement plans.
