Essential Functions
- Oversees the centralized Master Schedule for Electric Operations to improve organizational performance and promote integrated decisions regarding project completion.
- Oversees the work planning / scheduling process including preparation and prioritization of work plans and schedules, resource and materials requirements and forecasts, and coordinates with other processes for optimal resource utilization.
- Ensures overall data integrity and adherence to scheduling standards for all Substation, Transmission and Distribution projects for Electric Operations.
- Responsible for the integrated resource plan and schedule to execute the Electric Operations annual work plan including engineering and design support for timely delivery of project plans, specifications, drawings and permits. Develops an annual forecast of internal and external resource needs.
- In collaboration with other directors and managers, sets the direction of contract strategy and contract management philosophy to minimize cost and maximize quality and timeliness.
- Develops structure, governance and security levels within the scheduling tool (Primavera) to ensure consistent report outs.
- Responsible for integrated analytical assessment of internal and external resources to drive project completion.
- Identifies, develops and implements work process and best practices for overall planning and scheduling.
- Manages the preparation for, and execution of, restoration efforts in collaboration with other Electric Operations directors and managers.
- Manages performance by reviewing and evaluating work of employees. Builds consensus and communicates performance measures and expected performance levels. Assesses and improves team and employee performance through coaching.
- Oversees development of area staff. Develops a mindset of ownership and employee accountability for outcomes and consistent level of productivity and quality of work.
Technical Knowledge / Skill / Education / Licenses / Certifications :
Requires extensive knowledge of transmission and distribution issues and activities within the electric utility industryBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, related discipline or equivalent experience.MS in Engineering or MBA preferredMinimum of ten (10) years of related experience is required.Experience in managing or supervising groups engaged in transmission / distribution or related activities is preferred.Demonstrated experience in developing a union workforce and process re-engineering is also preferred.NoneWorking Conditions :
