ABOUT THE JOB

This position is accountable for the overall supervision of the Quality staff for assigned location(s). The Quality Lab Supervisor will provide leadership, guidance, employee development and cross functional support. Responsible for meeting all regulatory and certification requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Supervise and support the development and performance of Quality team for location
  • Assist in the review and implementation of lab support policies, procedures, practices, and programs to meet organizational, operations and management needs, as well as local, state and federal regulations. (support to meet ISO , , SQF and IPEC requirements)
  • Manage Good Lab Practice programs and applicable certifications
  • Apply all product quality and safety standards as well as report any product safety incidents to the Manager, or designated back-up (applicable to positions working in accordance with specific plant or company certifications)
  • Complete analytical testing using complex to specialized lab equipment, including preserving samples, completing sample preparation, documentation of test results, generating COAs, and communicating results.
  • Support investigation processes and lead investigations as necessary.
  • Perform document review, DCO’s, writing procedures, update instrumentation, methodologies, and training documents in support of laboratory quality programs
  • Conduct method assurance, calibrations, and support execution of validation protocols
  • Responsible for laboratory equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Train all applicable employees on updated instrumentation methods & testing
  • Conducts internal audits of the facility to ensure standards are met, and to identify deficiencies; completes audit follow-up to assure effectiveness of improvements.
  • Participate in customer and regulatory audits. Assist with corrective and preventive actions as a result of audit findings.

Maintain service contracts for lab equipment as necessary.

  • Perform other miscellaneous related duties, as needed.
  • ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience
  • Previous leadership experience required
  • Minimum five-year experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (ISO preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of analytical test methodology and the ability to analyze and interpret results.
  • Familiarity with use / calibration / maintenance of analytical laboratory equipment that may include but not be limited to : Atomic Absorption (AA), High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES), IC (Ion Chromatography), analytical balance, auto-titrator, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, Ionic / pH analytical meter, density meter
  • Experience with inspections, auditing, root cause analysis tools, CAPA, nonconformance and product complaint investigations, change control, document control, product and process lifecycle development, and training
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft applications - Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Problem solving, troubleshooting, time management and organization skills
  • Ability to communicate well with all disciplines and levels at the facility and corporate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, including report and technical writing skills
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Expected Compensation : $80,-90, + 10% Bonus Eligibility
