Position Summary
The Director of Human Resources provides strategic and operational leadership for the HR function, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values. This role oversees the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR programs and policies, serving as both a strategic advisor to senior leadership and a hands-on leader for the HR team. The Director is responsible for fostering a positive and compliant workplace culture, identifying and solving organizational challenges, and guiding managers and employees through change. The position requires strong problem-solving ability, sound judgment, and the capability to lead, develop, and inspire people across all levels of the organization.
Essential Functions :
- Develop and execute HR strategies that align with organizational mission, culture, and strategic objectives.
- Lead workforce planning efforts to ensure optimal staffing, capacity, and performance across the organization.
- Partner with senior leadership to anticipate organizational needs, identify issues, and develop solutions that support business objectives.
- Direct the design, implementation, and improvement of HR programs, including onboarding, engagement, performance management, recognition, and compliance.
- Lead talent development initiatives, including succession planning, career development, and leadership training.
- Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes in partnership with hiring managers to ensure effective workforce integration.
- Supervise and develop HR team members, setting goals, providing coaching, and holding staff accountable for results.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations, maintaining readiness for audits and reviews.
- Advise leaders and managers on employee relations, conflict resolution, and corrective action, fostering a fair and respectful work environment.
- Monitor employee engagement and retention, identifying trends and recommending improvements to enhance workplace culture.
- Support organizational change management initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and minimizing disruption.
- Manage HR systems and data integrity, including HRIS administration and reporting.
- Develop and monitor HR budgets, providing financial reports and variance analyses to leadership.
- Oversee and manage the company’s Professional Employer Organization (PEO), ensuring compliance, accuracy, and optimization of services such as payroll, benefits, employee relations, and reporting; maximize the value of PEO deliverables to support organizational needs.
- Act as a trusted advisor on compensation, benefits, and reward programs to support equity, competitiveness, and employee satisfaction.
- Represent the HR function as a collaborative partner across the organization, building strong relationships and trust with stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education / Experience / Credentials
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Human Resources related curriculum;Minimum of eight years HR management experience with progressive leadership positionsStrong working knowledge of federal employment laws and state laws3+ years of experience with ADP TotalSource PEO, WorkForce Now, and / or another large PEO providerPreferred Qualfiications :
Previous experience in healthcare, social services, human welfare, or other related industriesSkills & Abilities
