Overview
Kimley-Horn's Miami, Florida (FL) office is seeking a Structural / Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Structural team. This is not a remote position. The successful candidate will join a practice specializing in Forensic and Structural Engineering services.
Responsibilities
Candidates should have strong technical and analytical, detailing, communication and interpersonal skills and should be able to develop and maintain good relationships with coworkers, industry peers and clients.
- Perform structural design calculations, prepare project document submittal packages, and maintain Quality Control for the entire project
- Develop structural plans, details, and technical specifications
- Conduct site investigations and structural evaluations
- Document field observations and prepare technical reports
- Perform construction observation
- Support and participate in meetings and presentations with clients, owners, contractors, and design team members
- Contribute to identifying project opportunities through networking with new and existing clients
Qualifications
2+ years experience with a civil engineering design firmBachelors or Masters from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil EngineeringEngineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)Experience utilizing software programs for general structural analysisExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skillsStrong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlinesDetail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environmentAbility to work independently and as a team
