NICU Director (Level III NICU) – Austin, TX

Schedule : Full-time | No weekends | Standard Monday–Friday Leadership Schedule

Sign on bonus as well as Relocation offered

Overview :

An established multi-specialty hospital in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced NICU Director to lead a high-acuity, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This facility also houses dedicated pediatric and women’s centers and offers advanced medical services including emergency care, neurology, transplant, and robotic surgery.

Position Summary :

The NICU Director will oversee the overall operations, staffing, and strategic development of the Level III NICU. This leadership role is responsible for maintaining high standards of patient-centered care, driving quality and performance outcomes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities :

Promote evidence-based practices that support patient safety and high-quality outcomes.

Drive consistency in clinical practice to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Lead efforts to achieve internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, and clinical designations.

Ensure policies and practices align with regulatory standards and legal requirements.

Oversee patient flow processes including forecasting, admissions, and discharges to support optimal unit throughput.

Promote effective care coordination and staff communication across departments.

Develop and maintain nursing policies and procedures that ensure comprehensive patient and family-centered care.

Provide leadership focused on an exceptional patient experience and continuous service

Qualifications Needed :

  • Bachelor’s Degree or other approved education plan required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and / or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
  • ACLS preferred
  • L&D : NRP preferred / FHM preferred / RNC-OB preferred
  • Min 3 year of experience in healthcare required
  • Min 3 year of experience of NICU Director leadership role required
