Job Title

The GIS Analyst position will support all planning related services through GIS data management and analysis. In this role, you may be required to travel up to 25-50% of the time.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage and analyze data to create reports and presentations that support multiple planning activities that may include : facility master planning, boundary / zoning analysis, population / census analysis, site selection, student potential / build-out analysis.
  • Responsible for managing GIS tech support or outside GIS vendor support.

Environment : Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.

Physical : Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and / or pull light to moderate amounts of weight 50 lbs; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision : See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing : Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree Geography [GIS Specialty] or Bachelor's Degree + GIS Certification preferred
  • 5-10 years' GIS experience
  • Experience in K-12 education, Higher Ed, Manufacturing / Distribution, Transportation / Logistics, Entertainment / Hospitality, or related industries
  • Experience in management of GIS team
  • Proficient in ESRI and Microsoft products
  • Clear communication skills in all formats (written, spoken, social media, public presentations, etc.) on behalf of HPM
