Note : Union Dues are 1.44% of bi-weekly pay

Career Summary :

We are looking for a sharp, dedicated, and ambitious Innovation Designer who will play a vital role in leading programmatic work, can lead programmatic initiatives, events, group facilitation, assist in research and publication. This work moves quickly; the candidate must be able to balance multiple projects and deadlines - a must. As a designer within the American Nurses Enterprise (ANE) Innovation Team, you will play a key role in designing, building, and leading across all aspects of creating impactful products, programs, systems, and experiences. This candidate must have strong : technical skills, written and verbal communication, organization, problem-solving skills, as well as exceptional follow-through and attention to detail, which includes the ability to engage with people quickly and at a deep level. Innovation Designer will partner with the VP of Innovation to advance innovation initiatives internal and external to the ANE. Reports directly to the VP of Innovation. What You Will Do :

Design and Design Facilitation

  • Responsible for the quality of all deliverables across a variety of projects.
  • Hands-on design expert, shaping the concept and seeing it through detailed design and implementation across mediums, spaces, and communities using hands on skills and modern technologies, devices, and platforms.
  • Communicate and envision service concepts and ideas using methods & tools that illustrate all the components and touch - points of the service - pulling together all aspects of service design.
  • Skilled in design approaches that use creative facilitation techniques and lead internal / external meetings, ideation sessions, and external events.
  • Provide direction and constructive feedback on a range of human centered design methods and techniques for initial project discovery, framing testable concepts or prototypes, to solution deployment.
  • Focus innovation and design to balance business needs, create differentiation, and customer desires.
  • Create business and design briefs based on project proposals and client feedback.
  • Possess a point of view, influence, and robust communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bring insights and data to life as a storyteller – verbally and visually – in a way that generates empathy, emotion, and engagement.

Programmatic Design, Research, Planning & Implementation

  • Will work to design across a wide range of materials, including presentations, reports, graphic design, digital and audio assets, marketing collateral, and facilitation of events, forums, networking opportunities or initiatives with groups internal and external to the organization. Can build low fidelity wireframes to illustrate ideas and concepts to build buy in.
  • Manage a wide range of projects, defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders while holding to timelines. Establish relationships and liaise with key stakeholders throughout a project life cycle. React to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Work to issue regular status reports and troubleshoot problem areas, manage scope changes, and devise contingency plans by defining project roles, responsibilities, and expectations at the start and across the duration of each project.
  • Direct program initiatives and outcomes across education content, research, communities of practice, and innovation work. Design educational content, events, resources, and materials to expand innovation and design thinking resources for programmatic initiatives and across the ANE that use business and design frameworks to define optimal approach for content, education, and products.
  • Integrate business development, department initiatives, logistics support, research, product creation, and content strategy.
  • Facilitate and foster a sense of community among nurses interested in innovation. Organize events, forums, and networking opportunities to connect nurses, encouraging knowledge-sharing and collaboration.
  • Identifies emerging design nursing, healthcare innovation, and research trends and technologies to drive programmatic work, projects, and communication. Will utilize research, trends, and experiences to inform projects or programmatic work.
  • Provides consultation internal to ANE organizations and with external partners around design.
  • Communication and Collaboration

  • Partners with the VP of Innovation to work across the ANE Innovation programmatic and team initiatives.
  • Communicates the vision and impact of the Innovation Department in daily work, as an active thought leader through - content writing, resource creation, digital channels, and audio design around programmatic focus areas.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments as necessary within a multi-layered structure to support innovation priorities which includes creating opportunities for nurses to engage in innovative projects and initiatives.
  • Supports staff across the ANE and the nursing profession by creatively solving problems, connecting people, initiatives, and resources.
  • External Partnerships and Corporate Relationships

  • Establishes and maintains external relationships as needed to support and advance ANE’s Innovation work. This could include collaboration and coordination with nurses, nursing organizations, industry experts, corporate sponsors, and national organizations to align and develop research partnerships.
  • Facilitates design and innovation conversations and sessions to discover opportunities across initiatives, and programs with internal and external partners.
  • Facilitate and foster a sense of community among nurses interested in innovation.
  • Help to plan, coordinate, manage projects and project members, and run events, forums, and networking opportunities to connect nurses, encouraging knowledge-sharing and collaboration
  • Coach and consult inside and outside the organization to further the mission and vision of the ANE Enterprise.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally when required to do so.
  • What you bring to the American Nurses Enterprise :

    Education

  • College degree required. Masters or Doctoral degree in nursing is preferred. Degree or Certificate in Business or Design related field preferred with demonstrated expertise in healthcare, business, service and / or healthcare design, and innovation.
  • Related Work Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience across nursing and / or healthcare, business, and design roles
  • Proven experience in healthcare and public health design, with a strong and diverse portfolio showcasing a range of design and innovation projects.
  • Proficiency in design and facilitation skills leading teams through human-centered design methods and mindsets to improve and innovative health and healthcare
  • Project management and budgeting.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
  • Knowledge of healthcare policies, nursing practices, and innovation trends.
  • Proficiency in research tools, statistical analysis software, and data visualization tools.
  • Skills

  • Astute knowledge of broader design and innovation communities and resources.
  • Demonstrated leadership around planning, resources, and facilitation.
  • Strong fluency with design and innovation frameworks and conceptual constructs.
  • Experience analyzing large sets of information, extract insights, think creatively, and develop recommendations
  • Experience owning a project vision, execution, evaluation, data collection, quality assessments, and customer relationships.
  • Builds and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to respond positively and calmly to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
