Celanese is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Operations and Reliability Engineer for our Hytrel® operations at the Cooper River Site located near Monck Corner, South Carolina. This position reports to the Site Leader. This position will provide engineering support to the site infrastructure and utilities to improve operating efficiencies and maintain and improve reliability.
Responsibilities :
- Support the the day-to-day operation and reliability of site infrastructure and plant utilities including : air compressors / dryers, boilers, thermal fluid heaters, cooling tower, chillers, air dryers, potable and process water distribution systems, nitrogen distribution, wastewater treatment systems, process drying and comfort cooling.
- Be the site infrastructure and utilities subject matter expert to understand and evaluate continuity risks to businesses and effectively communicate with site and area leadership teams that are impacted.
- Owns the site infrastructure and utilities including completing required Hazard and Infrastructure audits.
- Partner with plant engineers and Operator / Mechanics to provide engineering support for all aspects of infrastructure and utilities as it integrates with manufacturing systems.
- Interface with site contract support and the local utility companies on issues related to incoming services.
- Work with the Planning Core Team to troubleshoot instrumentation and controls issues with the operations and engineering team as required.
- Lead efforts to upgrade site infrastructure and utilities ranging in scope from incremental change outs to major technology changes.
- Provide engineering design support on capital improvement projects. This will include scope and review of site projects and ensure these installations meet local and national engineering standards. Work with corporate subject matter experts to meet corporate standards. Develop appropriate documentation and be the owner’s representative for turnover to operations during commissioning.
- Provide commissioning and startup support for new equipment installation.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance for reliability program for infrastructure and utilities, including specific work and preventative maintenance procedures; work with the Planning Core Team to prepare lockout plans for Operations when required; support area commissioning and safety reviews.
- Lead or facilitate root cause failure analysis efforts related to site infrastructure and utilities utilizing root cause analysis methodology.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering5+ years of plant manufacturing experience including direct responsibility for steam generation, thermal fluid heating, compressed air, potable and process water systems, and nitrogen distribution.Demonstrated ability to perform work safely and effectively in an industrial environment.Working knowledge of plant drawings.Skilled in creating, reviewing, and updating technical procedures.Ability to use drawings, diagnostic data, and field observations to troubleshoot electrical issues.Ability to size and specify equipment when necessary for site upgrades and changes.Experience abiding to codes and safety standards.Ability to work with others and communicate well in a cross-functional setting including operators, mechanics, engineers of various disciplines, management, other leaders, and consultants in a positive way to improve plant performance.Preferred Qualifications :
