POSITION SUMMARY

  • Responsible for providing leadership and establishing and implementing quality management strategy to go along with overall business plans and objectives.

ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Establish and manage the ISO / TS 16949 compliant procedures for the Quality Management System.
  • Manage the quality department.
  • Act as company quality representative when interacting with suppliers and customers.
  • Work with the product team to establish proper quality methods.
  • Act as the primary contact for internal and external quality communications.
  • Lead problem solving efforts and manage the corrective action process.
  • Define and track Customer Satisfaction Metrics.
  • Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) including processes, controls and work instructions.
  • Support Continuous Improvement throughout the plant including training, documentation and quality control.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.
  • Ability to interpret and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate with supervisor and coworkers.
  • Good understanding of shop math including fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    • Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or similar required
  • 5 to 15 years of experience in a quality function in automotive Tier 1 and / or Tier 2
  • TS 16949 certification experience a must
  • Working knowledge of; 8D, Six Sigma, Red X, MMOG
  • Customer and Supplier interface to resolve quality issues
