Job Summary
The Operator performs a combination of duties involving general plant maintenance and operation of mobile equipment. This includes properly loading Ready Mix trucks and interacting with Ready Mix drivers and plant personnel. The Operator is responsible for operating equipment commonly found necessary for the proper maintenance of a ready-mix plant. Equipment operated will include a loader, water truck, man lift, forklift, etc.

Responsibilities
Troubleshoots and resolves maintenance problems to ensure efficient operationsLoads ready mix trucks with concrete and guides drivers through the plantBatch quality concrete within specifications, bringing any significant variances in the batching to the attention of the Plant SuperintendentCompletes daily service requirements of the plant; helps inspect the plant for preventative maintenance issuesOperates front-end loaders and forkliftsPerforms general maintenance of water pumps, conveyor belts, and other plant equipmentMaintains inventory of raw materials, parts, and toolsMonitors KPIs for dispatchEffectively communicates with customers and other departments of the companyStays well-informed on Quality Control demands on concreteDemonstrate safe and efficient operation of equipment while completing assigned tasksPerform pre-operational / post-operational checks of equipment to ensure equipment can be operated safelyOperate a range of loaders, including skip loader, front loader, man lift, and forkliftPerform work area examinations to ensure a safe work environment; any observed hazards must be noted, reported to the supervisor and corrected if possibleComply with company policies, procedures and work rules, as well as federal safety, health, and environmental regulationsPerform plant maintenance activities as directedWork may extend to include general labor duties such as shoveling and sweepingSupport other plant activities as directedSome weekend and night work will be requiredEducation
High school diploma / GED
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience with maintenance, operations, loaders and forkliftsMust provide basic tools such as wrenches, hammers, welding hood, and glovesExperience in metal cutting and fabrication, and ability to perform general maintenance on pumps and plant equipmentKnowledgeable in the operation and equipment used in a ready-mix plantVersed in Batch Panel softwareIntermediate skills in Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledgeable in MSHA and OSHA rules and regulationsKnowledge of pH, TSS, TDS, and Turbidity limits to meet the Department of Ecology standardsAble to work in various extreme weather conditionsMay be required to work varying start / stop times and extended hoursExperience operating loaders, man lifts, and forkliftsExperience operating equipment outside in all weather conditionsAbility to work under pressure and with minimal supervisionPhysical requirements : able to lift / move up to 100 lbs., climb up to 24 feet, walk, bend and crouchPreferred :
