Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required :
- Provide CA Teaching Pyramid coaching to assigned sites in accordance with the established policies and procedures.
- Support implementation of the CA Teaching Pyramid by making three to five visits to assigned programs over the course of a training cycle.
- Each visit includes a one-hour program observation and a one-hour reflective meeting with the provider / educator scheduled between module trainings.
- Additionally, the coach may be asked to virtually facilitate three Reflective Practice Cadres for a small group of coaches.
- Communicates regularly with the trainers of the CA Teaching Pyramid Modules.
- Creates a positive environment that supports learning utilizing appropriate adult learning strategies.
- Submits, accurately and punctually, all required paperwork.
- Provides group instruction to adults using effective teaching strategies, designated instructional materials, and relationship-based facilitation techniques.

- Develops and maintains good communication with WestEd staff, child care providers, host agencies and individuals, and any collaborating agencies.
Minimum Qualifications : Employment Eligibility :
Successful candidates must provide proof of employment eligibility and verification of legal right to work in the United States in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act.Must be authorized as a CA Teaching Pyramid Coach or be willing to complete the authorization process.Prefer Bilingual, Spanish languageEducation :
High School diploma or equivalent is required.Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.Experience :
Must be currently authorized as a CA Teaching Pyramid Coach.Three or more years of work experience in early learning and care.Experience coaching adults and teams in the CA Teaching Pyramid.Prefer experience with preschool age children, infants, and toddlers.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Knowledge of CA Teaching Pyramid for Preschool, Infants & Toddlers or Family Child Care.Knowledge of current coaching strategies and learning modalities.Knowledge of educational technology and its applications.Knowledge of online learning best practices, learning management systems, and development and delivery of online coaching (for online coaching options).Ability to organize environment and meetings to facilitate reflection & learning.Ability to coach on the CA Teaching Pyramid for Preschool or Infants & Toddlers with fidelity.Ability to use diverse strategies to meet teacher’s learning styles.Ability to create a Coaching Action Plan, complete coaching updates for leadership teams, and write an End of the Year report.Ability to follow policies and procedures and maintain required records.Computer access and ability to communicate, submit schedules and reports electronically.Develops and maintains good communication with WestEd staff, child care providers, host agencies and individuals, and any collaborating agencies.Will travel to designated sites to conduct the coaching.Attends all required meetings and trainings.Note : Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. SALARY :
The salary for this temporary role is $50 per hour.
