You'll Drive the Mission By :

Tier 3 Student Duties

  • Collaborate with teachers, Case Managers, and Tier 1 coaches to identify interventions to include in Tier 3 individualized student plans.
  • Create individualized student plans in consultation with Case Managers, Teachers, and other staff, ensuring that the plans are trauma-informed, not contraindicated to students' mental health diagnoses, are not punitive / adversarial, and are aligned with Serendipity's Integrated Intervention model.
  • Introduce, train, and model implementation of individualized student plans so that all staff working with the student have an understanding of and ready access to the plan.
  • Conduct fidelity checks, and provide on-going side-by-side coaching, training and support to ensure individual student plans are being followed.
  • Be available for consultation on challenging student behavior, providing solution-based guidance to teachers / staff for Tier 3 students.
  • Support and ensure that data is being collected related to the specific individualized student plans and goals and recommend plan changes.
  • Monitor students entering Tier 3 or exiting Tier 3 status; collect, analyze, and report data from multiple sources to ISST team (Special Education Director, VP, Case Managers, teachers / staff) in order to move students off ISST.
  • Record data and progress notes into Tier 3 student section of the Intensive Student Support Team (ISST) document twice per week prior to the scheduled ISST meeting.
  • Collaborate with the Vice-Principal to develop ISST agenda twice per month.
  • Co-lead and participate in ISST team meetings.
  • Prioritize the needs and plans of Tier 3 students; consult classroom staff on non-Tier 3 students, as time allows.
  • Behavior Support Plans

  • Understand Serendipity's Integrated Intervention model; identify, advise and train on Behavioral, Cognitive Behavioral, and Contextual interventions alongside Tier 1 coaches, Case managers, and Administrators.
  • Collaborate with the Special Education department, and administration on the process for BSP creation, implementation, and amendments, including Serendipity-adopted tools such as Collaborative Problem Solving.
  • Lead interdisciplinary student team in revising the BSP for students who have had 5 or more restraints or one seclusion (per Oregon law).
  • Contact family / caregiver and school district at 5 restraints to invite them to attend and / or provide input in the BSP review.
  • Advise classroom staff in planning and problem-solving for students who are suspended.
  • Coach behavior assessment and behavior support plan documentation and implementation.
  • Conduct training on creation and implementation of BSPs, aligned with Serendipity's Integrated Intervention model :
  • New staff – overview of the BSP and process, as hired

  • Veteran / seasoned staff – at least biannually
  • Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary school safety team that plans, advises, and oversees behavioral threat assessment and management
  • General Staff Duties

  • Participate in daily walks and check-ins, with a collaborative focus, to support classroom staff in supporting their students and provide feedback and direction as needed.
  • When on the program floor, conduct observations, model specific interventions, and provide general support.
  • Meet with supervisor weekly to identify CITM meetings in which presence is needed (varies by discipline data).
  • Participate in relevant leadership tasks such as schoolwide professional development, School Improvement Planning, and Schoolwide Expectations.
  • Implement CPI and Ukeru according to training and ODE & OPSI guidelines.
  • What Makes You Qualified?

  • Education / experience : Master's degree and 2-5 years experience as a Licensed Professional in Behavior Health (Such as OT, Autism, BCBA, LCSW, LPC, Special Education Teacher, Psychologist)
  • General Skills : Work well in leading large teams to support students that are struggling. Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines. Use of strategies that support both students with significant social emotional and behavior needs (SEB) and students with Autism. General Computer Skills required, fluency with MS Office 365, TEAMS, and relevant software applications.
  • Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, reach, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. The employee must occasionally perform physical management techniques on children. Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : None

    WORK ENVIRONMENT :

    General office conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to assault by a student. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually average-moderate, but sometimes may be moderate and occasionally loud.
