We are looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Meridian, Idaho. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and supporting departmental needs. This position requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities :
- Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
- Prepare and maintain monthly accounting workpapers to support financial reporting.
- Review housing costs against budgeted amounts and accrue for unspent funds appropriately.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of housing revenue entries in financial systems.
- Research payment discrepancies for other departments and process journal entry reclassifications as needed.
- Provide guidance on account coding questions to divisional team members.
- Utilize accounting software such as Oracle EnterpriseOne and Concur to streamline operations and reporting.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on financial processes and procedures.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency in accounting workflows and reporting.
- Maintain a strong understanding of accounting functions and tools, including Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or related roles with a focus on detail-oriented tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with payment processing and journal entry reclassifications.
- Familiarity with Oracle EnterpriseOne and Concur is highly desirable.
- Ability to conduct research analysis and provide accurate financial insights.
- Strong understanding of monthly account reconciliation and workpaper preparation.
- Knowledge of revenue accounting and account coding processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
