About Us Child Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education and family support services to ensure school readiness and healthy development for young children. We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Health Services Clerk to join our team and support the delivery of health, oral health, and safety practices for children and families.

Position Summary The Health Services Clerk supports the Health Services Manager in maintaining accurate health records, coordinating screenings, and assisting families in accessing health resources. This role plays a vital part in ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and supporting children's growth, wellness, and school readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct hearing and vision screenings at centers, campuses, and community events.
  • Track and update children's medical, dental, and immunization records in ChildPlus.
  • Support families in accessing health care resources, insurance, and community providers.
  • Assist with health and safety inspections, CPR / First Aid training, and compliance tracking.
  • Prepare reports on health services data and maintain confidentiality of all records.
  • Collaborate with Family Advocates, teachers, and health professionals to meet program goals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; at least 1 year of clerical / administrative experience.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ChildPlus experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and proofreading skills.
  • Knowledge of conversational Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel between sites.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with diverse populations.
