POSITION SUMMARY

Prov i de and / or c o ord i nat e full est i mating services on a l l pr o jects i n cludin g large,   compl e x m e chan i cal projects. Mentor junior est i mato r s.

What you’ll do :

1. Coordina t e and lead t otal estimatin g effor t relevan t to bid o r pro j ec t .

2. Provide comple t e co n ceptual an d final esti m ating inpu t o n co m pl e x project s .

3. Review pr o posal specifications, d rawin g s, at t end pre-bid m eetings, etc., to determi n e sc o pe o f work a n d required con t ents o f pr o ject estima t e.

4. Utilize and und e rsta n d historical dat a f rom es t imate, purchase o rders, subcont r ac t s, prod u ct i vity analysis repor t s, e t c., as par t o f ris k ma n agemen t .

5. Prepare estimates by calculatin g co m plet e t akeoff for sc o pe of w o rk u sing FastPipe / Fastduct and / or McCormick  estimat i ng s o ftware.

6. Interpre t a n d / or fill in sco p e g aps w h en drawings o r d esig n is unfinished.   Seek assis t ance fro m Engin e erin g w h e n required. When appro v ed by Chief Estimat o r or Preco n struction Manager.

7. Identify any unique q u ality control prov i sions or safet y requ i remen t s for t h e pro j ec t a n d i n corp o ra t e relate d cos t s into bi d .

8. Identify any sc h edul e requiremen t s f o r t h e projec t a n d i n co r pora t e relate d costs into bid.

9. Ascertai n an y ris k s rel a ted t o the projec t to guarant e e t h at provisions are made for tho s e risk a n d inc o rp o rate relate d cos t into bi d .

10. Inco r porate projec t in f ormation, qualificatio n s, clarifications, and e x clusions into stand a r d propo s al let t er t empla t e for final e x ecutio n wit h precon Team.

11. Develop final estimate summary s h ee t a n d c o ordinat e with Chief / Estimating Ma n ager t o finaliz e re l ated items includin g g eneral conditions wor k s h ee t .

12. Do w h at it t akes t o e n sure tha t estimates are comple t e, well-o r gani z ed an d read y f o r revi e w befo r e the gi v en deadline. Includin g sche d uling and leading plan revi e w meeting at leas t 3 6 ho u rs prior t o bid d ate.

13. Maintai n files of w o rking d o cu m ents as back-ups.   Co o rdina t e with t he fiel d operations t ea m on s u ccessful bids to provi d e a thor o ug h transition to the pro j ec t t e am.

14. Follow awar d ed con t ract s , as assig n ed – m ay include estimating additional w o rk items, c h ange o rders, pr o curin g ma t erial, e t c.

15. Provide leadership a n d ment o r junio r estimators an d oth e r m embers o f the Preco n struction gro u p.

16. Perfor m additional assignments per superviso r ’s direction.

17. Confirm co m pliance and accurac y o f all v e n dor quotes with scope of wor k an d specifications.

18. Maintai n an d u pdat e vendor call list.

19. Develop, m aintain, a n d submit a conf o rmed set o f d rawings and d o cumen t s t o operations for sec u red project s .

20. Review estimatin g bo o k wit h Chief Estimat o r prio r to t u rn o ver. Ma k e ( 2 ) copies for t u rno v er an d prov i de elec t ronic c o py o f book conten t s.

21. Execu t e Spec Revi e w For m for all bidding projec t s.

What you’ll need to be successful :

  • Success f ul t r ac k reco r d estimating an d neg o tiating lar g e, comple x pro j ec t s.
  • Thoroug h kn o wledge of compan y procedures, estimating t echniques, FastPipe / Fastduct and / or McCormick / ConEst o r applicable estimating software, cost con t rol systems an d account s .
  • Ability to s u ccessfully coordinat e an d supervise g rou p wor k effor t .
  • Superio r t e chnical, a n alytical, o r g anizational an d communication skills.
  • Working kn o wledge and un d erstandin g o f current ch a pters of MC A A.

What you bring to the table :

  • 8-1 0 years estimating, cos t con t rol a n d / or e n gineerin g e x perie n ce relate d to mec h anica l o r el e ctr i cal co n struction.
