Apparel Technical Designer

Our client is seeking an Apparel Technical Designer to bring creativity and precision to performance-driven sportswear. The ideal candidate combines a sharp technical eye with strong problem-solving skills, thriving in highly cross-functional environments. This role calls for someone who can balance design intent with practical execution, ensuring fit, function, and quality meet the demands of elite athletes on the global stage.

This role is onsite in Beaverton, Oregon.

Apparel Technical Designer Responsibilities

Translate creative design concepts into detailed technical drawings and tech packs for garment construction.
Execute and maintain fit and construction standards across assigned styles to ensure consistency and performance.
Facilitate prototyping, track development progress, and resolve construction / manufacturing challenges.
Lead fit sessions, provide technical expertise, and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners.
Monitor product testing and integrate feedback to deliver proven, high-quality apparel on time.

Apparel Technical Designer Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in technical design, textile science, or related field (or equivalent product creation experience).

8+ years of apparel technical design experience, from concept through production, including pattern making and garment construction.

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, CAD pattern software (Optitex), and 3D tools (CLO / Browzwear); MS Office required.

Demonstrated ability to interpret design intent, solve problems, and work directly with vendors on manufacturability.

Strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Compensation : Up to $48 / hr. (DOE)
