Salary : $18-$21 / hour
Job Overview :
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing a wide range of recreation programs and events, including special events, athletic events / tournaments, and outdoor activities. This role fosters community engagement and delivers positive experiences for participants of all ages, while ensuring programs are well-organized, safe, and aligned with the Park Districts mission.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Develop and manage high-quality special events and athletic events / tournaments
- Support and supervise adult cultural arts offerings
- Lead the strategic planning, coordination, implementation, supervision, budgeting, and evaluation of a diverse year-round portfolio of events and programs, including a key role in the communitys signature festival, PrairieFest
- Research and initiate new special events
- Manage personnel administration
- Maximize the effective use of facilities for programs and activities
- Support the development of marketing strategies for both new and existing programs and events through effective website management, dynamic social media engagement, and onsite marketing
- Effectively communicate with staff, volunteers, businesses, and community officials
- Recruit, evaluate, guide, and hold accountable contracted services
- Provide resources and assistance for other District events
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, & Training :
Bachelors Degree or current undergraduate student work preferred in Recreation, Sports Management, Special Events, Hospitality, or related fieldExperience in Special Events, Athletics, Community Event Planning, or Recreation preferredBenefits :
