FULL DESCRIPTION : A Document Control Specialist for structural steel fabrication manages all project documents, including drawings, specifications, and quality records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards. Key responsibilities involve receiving, logging, and distributing documents, updating electronic and hard copy files, maintaining document revision logs, and communicating with project stakeholders such as engineers, project managers, and fabricators. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, proficiency with document management systems and Microsoft O-ice, and ideally, experience in the construction or fabrication industry. The selected candidate will be responsible for : -Receive, log, scan, file, and distribute all project-related documents, including blueprints, specifications, transmittals, and change orders.-Control and update document revisions, monitor changes, and maintain accurate document revision logs.-Input, maintain, and organize electronic and hard copy job files, ensuring they are stored and retrieved efficiently.-Perform quality checks on documents, ensure they meet internal and client requirements, and maintain records of quality-related processes.-Act as a central point of contact, communicating document status, and coordinating with internal teams, project managers, clients, vendors, and detailers.-Use and manage document control software and systems (PowerFab) to track and manage document workflows.-Provide general administrative support to project teams and other departments as needed. The selected candidate will also possess : -Proficiency in Microsoft O-ice (Word, Excel), PDF Bluebeam tools, and familiarity with document management systems.-Experience in construction or structural steel fabrication is highly preferred.-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.-Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to multitask.-Clear written and verbal communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.-Ability to work independently and as a dependable team player.
