Location : Utah / Remote with regional travel | Full-Time | Equity + Competitive Compensation Package

About Us

Multifamily MEP, Inc. is a next-generation, full-service MEP platform engineered from the ground up to serve the unique needs of the multifamily development sector. We deliver a seamless, integrated stack of services—from in-house MEP engineering to construction execution and ongoing service—across mechanical, electrical (including low voltage), plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems.

We're not just a subcontractor—we are a vertically integrated execution engine built for speed, precision, and scale, powered by advanced BIM, robotics, and workforce alignment.

We plan to open 11 regional offices and build a $1B+ project pipeline within the next 5 years. The COO will be instrumental in making this a reality.

Role Overview

As COO, you will serve as the operational architect and integrator of Multifamily MEP, Inc.'s field and engineering operations. You'll build and scale a nationwide delivery system that transforms how MEP work is performed—by replacing fragmentation with standardization, inefficiency with automation, and misalignment with ownership.

Reporting to the CEO and partnering closely with the Founder, you'll own the day-to-day execution and strategic operational design that enables us to deliver projects faster, cheaper, and better—at scale.

Key Responsibilities

National Operations

  • Oversee and scale field operations across all MEP trades in 11 markets.
  • Implement repeatable processes, systems, and standards to drive consistency across offices.
  • Lead hiring and onboarding of office-level Project Managers across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems.
  • Coordinate the centralized BIM / VDC team with regional execution teams.

Field Technology & Automation

  • Deploy advanced field technology, robotics, and sequencing tools to drive labor efficiency and reduce cycle times.
  • Champion the integration of BIM models and AI-driven workflows into preconstruction and field processes.

    • Project Execution & Profitability

  • Ensure project delivery performance—on-time, on-budget, and at target margin—across a growing portfolio of $10M+ multifamily developments.
  • Collaborate with the CTO, VP of Engineering, Director of Robotics & Field Technology, and MEP Operations Advisor to optimize cross-functional coordination.

    • Organizational Leadership

  • Build a high-performance execution culture with strong accountability, shared success, and decentralized leadership.
  • Develop and refine KPIs, dashboards, and reporting systems to track office and project-level performance.
  • Foster a culture of ownership through our profit-sharing and equity program.

    • Who You Are

    Required

  • 10+ years of senior leadership in construction, MEP contracting, GC operations, or design-build environments
  • Proven success scaling multi-office operations or trade networks
  • Deep expertise in MEP systems and construction sequencing
  • Track record of managing P&L, budgets, field teams, and preconstruction
  • Passion for systematization, automation, and workforce development
  • Strong alignment with founder-led growth and long-term vision

    • Preferred

  • Experience with BIM, robotics, or AI in construction workflows
  • Background in multifamily projects and developer-GC coordination
  • Leadership in early-stage / high-growth operating businesses
  • Familiarity with trade workforce labor dynamics and training
