Job Title

To support the Office of Communications in the preparation, production, and curation of quality L&C-related news content. Position is remote with Zoom check-ins.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Primary Responsibility : Writing stories for the online newsroom at lclark.edu / news

Secondary Responsibility : General support for L&C's public relations efforts

Qualifications :

Demonstrated interest and ability in writing and journalism, with a strong desire to develop skills in that area toward a possible career in communications or public relations.

Strong writing and editing skills.

Strong research skills.

Ability to work independently with a remote supervisor.

Reliability.

Discretion.

Ability to honor and work with all identities and individuals, particularly those who are underrepresented in the country and / or at Lewis & Clark College.

Required for application : Cover Letter, Resume, and TWO Writing Samples. ("Other Doc" listed under application materials is for second writing sample)

Experience / Skills Gained :

By working with our office's professional writers and editors, the student will sharpen their communication skills and be better positioned for post-graduation career opportunities. They will develop projects and materials for their portfolio and learn the inner workings of a college communications office.

Schedule :

TBD Most likely 6 hours per week.

Rate of Pay : 16.30 per hour
