Description
FourOneSeven is looking for a graphic designer who is able to work efficiently on multiple editorial design projects with quick turnaround times, and see a project through from concept to completion.
We currently have an opening for an Editorial Designer. This position creates production-ready visual layouts and conceptual art for the 417 family of publications and custom publishing clients.
Additional duties include :
- Support development of all publications through organizational and planning efforts, creative concepting, technical setup and production-focused design.
- Design editorial layouts for all publications in keeping with the brand and demographics.
- Design custom visuals that quickly and concisely communicate content.
- Provide art direction and collaborate with photographer and Creative Director on photoshoots.
- Pitch and execute multi-media art components during photo shoot and art production, including print-to-digital considerations, social media content, and online-only products.
- Prepare design ideas, in conjunction with the creative team, for participation in editorial brainstorm meetings.
- Review editorial lineup to ensure editorial design and imagery is aesthetically on-brand, high-quality and meets the needs of each corresponding publication.
- Assist in getting pickup art and scheduling photo shoots for all publications.
- Provide retouching, color correcting and photo manipulation as needed.
The ideal candidate will excel in professional communication, have a strong attention to detail, demonstrate good judgment and the ability to evaluate tasks and prioritize effectively, excellent design skills, visual creativity, and strong understanding of typography.
A Bachelor's degree in graphic design or equivalent experience and education is required, with 3+ years of on-the-job experience.
Evaluations and Outcomes :
The position will be evaluated after 90 days with annual performance reviews.Working Conditions
Normal working conditions in an office environment absent extreme factors. Travel will be required, even after hours or on weekends, for local community events.Requirements
