REPORTS TO : Hospital Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW :
The mission of the Training Coordinator is to facilitate a structural training regimen that meets the needs of the location and individual.
EDUCATION :
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary technician program (preferred but not required)
- Currently credentialed as a Veterinary Technician in the state of residence or eligible in states that require credentialing
EXPERIENCE :
Previous experience in training / education is preferred but not requiredPreferred : 3 years clinical experience, with a minimum of 1 year of ER medicineLEADERSHIP SKILLS :
Embodies leadership and team buildingAble to give constructive criticism without focusing on negative aspectsAccommodates for needs of the team and specific individuals through education and hands-on learningModels positivity, professionalism, moral standards, and strong work ethicDemonstrates flexibility in personal scheduling to accommodate the needs of the teamCoordinate with the Location Leadership to identify individual and location-specific training needsEncourage a portion of CE allowance towards the growth and development of training skillsOversees progress of the hospital training team and individual team membersTraining in accordance with AAHA standardsTeaches both hands-on and theoretical curriculumCoordinates with location leadership to enhance training protocols and new developmentsMeet with location leadership for team member needs and assessment of skillsParticipate in regular meetings with location training coordinators and location training teamContribution / Participation in the development of resources
