Job Summary
The Staff Accountant will support core accounting operations by maintaining accurate general ledger records, assisting with the month-end closing, and helping to strengthen the company’s internal control environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely financial reporting as the Company scales its operations. Primary Relationships
- Within Cristcot, the Staff Accountant will work closely with the Controller and CFO, as well as cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and transactional integrity.
- Outside Cristcot, the Staff Accountant will liaise with external vendors and service providers to support timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
Primary Job Responsibilities
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the monthly close process, managing accounts payable, and maintaining the integrity of the Company’s financial records. This position will work proactively with cross-functional teams including operations, R&D, and commercial, to ensure accurate financial tracking of pharmaceutical activities and compliance with internal controls.
The activities of the Staff Accountant will include, but are not limited to :
Ensure accuracy of accounting records in accordance with US GAAP and company policiesPrepare and post journal entries for revenue, expenses, accruals, prepaids, and other GL accountsReconcile key balance sheet accounts including cash, inventory, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilitiesSupport monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including variance analysis and reportingAssist with internal and external audits, including preparing schedules and audit documentationHelp enforce and improve internal controls and accounting proceduresCollaborate with the Controller and cross-functional teams to support ongoing business activities and process improvementsEngage with external vendors to support accounts payable operations and ensure timely paymentsSkills and Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2 – 4 years of accounting experience, ideally within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences sectors, or from a public accounting firm serving similar clientsSolid understanding of US GAAP and internal control principlesProficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas)Proficiency in using Power BI or equivalent business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel Power Query) to design, build, and maintain dashboards and reportsFamiliarity with ERP systems and financial close tools is a plusStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a high-growth environmentCPA or CMA (active or in progress) is preferred
