Plastic Molding Technology (PMT) manufactures high precision plastic parts for automotive, telecommunications, medical device, renewable energy, and industrial customers. The primary manufacturing processes are injection molding and thermoforming. PMT has ~100 injection molding presses at its two primary manufacturing locations in El Paso, TX and Centennial, CO (a suburb of Denver). A third facility in Longmont, CO (a suburb of Denver) provides in-house repair and fabrication of tools & dies.

Role Description :
As a Maintenance Technician in a plastic molding operation, you will be responsible for the maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment used in the production of plastic molded parts. Your expertise will encompass electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and stepper motor systems, enabling you to handle various aspects of the maintenance process. You will work closely with engineers, operators, and other maintenance personnel to ensure the successful implementation and optimal performance of all systems, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
What you’ll do :
Conduct regular equipment inspections to proactively identify potential issuesGenerate strategies to identify and mitigate recurring equipment problemsPlan and execute a preventative maintenance plan to maximize machinery uptime and extend its productive lifespanInstall, set up and repair equipment, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and stepper motor components, according to engineering specifications and manufacturer guidelinesMaintenance and configuration of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), robotic controllers, servo drives and related equipmentPerform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and stepper motor systems, robotic systems, conveyors, injection molding machines, and other related machineryDiagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and stepper motor components, identifying root causes and implementing appropriate solutionsRespond promptly to alarms, errors, or breakdowns in any of the systems, taking appropriate action to resolve issuesCollaborate with operators to provide technical support, training, and troubleshooting guidance as needed for all equipmentMaintain accurate documentation of equipment installation, maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications for all equipmentKeep up with documentation to maintain meticulous records of maintenance work, trends and outcomes to support data-driven decision makingParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation systems and processes for electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, and facilitiesAdhere to safety protocols, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations and building codesIdentify and address potential safety hazards associated with the installation and operation of automation equipmentStay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to maintenance and automationWhat we’re looking for :
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in automation, mechatronics, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and or plumbingProven experience as a maintenance and automation technician or in a similar role, preferably in a plastic molding environment, with expertise in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbingStrong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, robotics, servo drives, stepper motor controllers, as well as electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic controlsFamiliarity with plastic molding processes, equipment, and related systemsAbility to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals for electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and stepper motor componentsSolid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions related to electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and stepper motor systemsExcellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teamsAttention to detail and a strong commitment to safetyAbility to work independently and in a fast-paced production environmentPlastic Molding Technology does not accept unsolicited resumes from staffing agencies or third-party recruiters.
