Job Summary :

To perform precision honing and internal finishing. May be required to assist higher and lower grade Operators.

Job Responsibilities :

• Works from blueprints, shop routers, written and oral instructions.
• Sets-up and operate Horizontal and Automatic honing machines to perform precision honing and internal finishing. Set upper and lower limits, spindle RPMs. Choose and set up the correct fixtures, mandrel, stone holders and stones. Able to verify hole size using precision measuring tools. Able to maintain and verify surface finish.
• Able to set-up and use handheld honing equipment.
• Responsible only for own work.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education :

Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. Requires knowledge of several different types of hone machines.

Experience :

Requires a minimum of one year experience directly related to conventional honing or related CNC machines.

Working Conditions :

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions due to exposure of hands continuously to coolant and spray on clothing.
