Utility Global is expanding into numerous industrial sectors and looking for an experienced Testing and Processing Technician to join the Team at our Advanced Technology Center in Denver Colorado. Utility converts and concentrates valuable streams of hydrogen and syngas from off gases. As part of our organization, you will work with a highly motivated and driven team primarily in the testing of materials, components, and subsystems for development and quality control purposes. In your role supporting R&D and product development functions, you will maintain ownership of and be responsible for assembling, running, and disassembling tests of cells and multi-cell assemblies (stacks) with other components / subsystems. This will include maintaining and calibrating equipment at regular intervals, operating test software, replacing compressed gas cylinders and other consumables as needed. Preparing tests may include cutting ceramic cells, joining cells with test hardware using one or more methods to achieve a gas-tight seal, and building stacks and stack modules for testing. Additional duties may include development efforts for stack and module manufacturing and assembly development.
As part of your duties, you will also be responsible for materials characterization under the supervision of one or more engineers for manufacturing quality control and various development purposes. This may include following standard operating procedures (SOPs) to run equipment for particle size analysis density measurements, and more. Additionally, as needed, you may work as a technician in other areas of development, including ceramics processing and cell manufacturing development. This work may include materials processing, and the preparation, operation, cleaning, and routine maintenance of equipment used in preparing ceramic body components (e.g., extruder), spray coating and other deposition techniques, sintering, component trimming or post-processing, and more.
In all capacities, training will be provided as necessary for safety protocols, managing equipment, and standard operating procedures.
