JOB DESCRIPTION Salary $21 - $25 per hour The Behavior Technician works one-on-one with children and / or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and similar developmental delays and behavioral health challenges in the home setting. They implement the Behavior Plan (BP) designed and maintained by the Clinical Supervisor (BCBA) in areas including language / communication, social and play skills, self-help skills, and de-escalation of challenges behaviors. The BT collects quantifiable data and narrative summaries necessary for the Clinical Supervisor to evaluate the effectiveness of the BP in achieving identified goals and objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Follows the instructions and Behavior Plan created by the BCBA / clinical supervisor
- Provides behavior assistance / interventions to assigned clients
- Implements goals and objectives utilizing strategies based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Implements de-escalation and crisis intervention
- Implements behavior support plans
- Collects data and documents session per policies and procedures
- Communicates progress and concerns with Clinical Supervisor and Office Leadership
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements :
High School diploma or equivalent requiredAt least one of the following required : 1) Completed college coursework in following areas : psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, human development or 2) a minimum of one year experience working with children or adults in the following capacities : Child Development, Camp Counselor, Paraprofessional, Direct Support Professionals, Behavior Interventionist / Therapist, or Behavior TechnicianSuccessful completion of 40-hours and ABA training. Training provided, must be completed prior to providing serviceCurrent CPR certificationCurrent PPD or Chest X-Ray (as applicable per state and / or client requirement)Excellent communication skillsProficiency in the English language requiredTechnological proficiency including mobile devices for documentationMust be at least 18 years of ageMaxim Benefits : Health and Wellness
