Job Responsibilities

Hazard Identification and Risk Mitigation :

  • Identify potential safety hazards on construction sites and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish site-specific safety plans and procedures.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences.

Compliance and Reporting :

  • Ensure that all construction activities adhere to relevant safety regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, corrective actions, and training activities.
  • Communication and Training :

  • Promote a culture of safety by effectively communicating safety expectations and standards to all construction site personnel.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to address specific safety concerns and topics.
  • Provide guidance and support to subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with safety protocols.
  • Emergency Response and Preparedness :

  • Develop emergency response plans and procedures for various potential incidents, such as fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
  • Coordinate with emergency services and personnel to ensure swift and effective response to emergencies.
  • Continuous Improvement :

  • Analyze safety performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to safety programs based on lessons learned and industry best practices.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in construction safety management, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations pertaining to construction.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using relevant safety software, tools, and technology for documentation and reporting.
