Network Administrator / Network Engineer
Location : Arlington, VA
Must have an active Secret Clearance
Node is supporting a U.S. Government customer to provide support for onsite incident response to civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners who experience cyber-attacks, providing immediate investigation and resolution. Contract personnel perform investigations to characterize the severity of breaches, develop mitigation plans, and assist with the restoration of services.
Node is seeking a motivated network engineer to implement, maintain, and support the lab network infrastructure. Responsibilities :
- Leverage advanced analytical and technical skills to design and implement infrastructure solutions that enhance mission execution and support command decision-making.
- Support the integration of new technologies and equipment within lab environments, including development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies.
- Assess network topology and device configurations, identify critical security vulnerabilities, and recommend security best practices.
- Provide user support for Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) such as Citrix, as well as MacOS and iOS platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve a broad range of technical issues, from basic to complex network problems.
- Implement granular access controls, monitor system performance and accessibility, establish and maintain backup protocols, and ensure system security.
- Diagnose and resolve complex enterprise storage issues across local and wide area networks, including replication strategy support and remediation of storage-related incidents.
- Design, build, and maintain robust network environments by configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as updating network devices and performing IP address audits.
- Ensure optimal network performance by troubleshooting issues, enforcing system standards, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize infrastructure.
- Secure network systems through policy enforcement, access controls, and continuous monitoring.
