Position Summary
Provide leadership within the Raw Material Procurement team through supervision of direct reports and individual contributions across several core skill sets :
- Ensure safe and steady supply of material to support Fab operations, through effective management of demand fluctuation, complex supply chains (international and domestic, air and sea), forecast monitoring, aging and shelf life review and vendor base. Accomplish both directly and through supervision of buyers.
- Effectively manage cost and negotiation for raw materials to minimize Samsung TCO while ensuring world best quality and performance.
- Effectively manage new vendor and material selection and development process through all stages.
- Manage one or more direct reports responsible for day to day raw material category procurement (chemicals, CMP pads, photo resist, wafers, etc).
- Serve as key interface for Samsung supply chain between vendors and internal stakeholders (ex. Fab engineering, Quality, end customer, HQ team).
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and projects such as internal / external audit; system improvement and innovation; and KPI development / management.
Role and Responsibilities
Provide direct leadership within the Raw Materials team in the following areas :
People management - Responsible for direct supervision of one or more buyers and / or materials technicians. Includes day to day operational management of work product and deliverables; setting and managing performance to goals; performance reviews; effective management of days of inventory (shortage / overage prevention, scrap management); price negotiation and management; and support for excursions as neededAdministrative / Tactical - KPI / MBO / reporting tasks to Management through Executive level - Plan / run meetings (internal - Managing and generating Business Processes - Inventory management (stock levels, min / max, shortage and overage prevention)Strategic - Vendor management through paper and on-site audit, negotiation and contract execution - Supplier identification, selection and qualification - Long term forecasting and market understanding - Project management and TFT coordination for improvement projectsSkills and Qualifications
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum # Years Required :
4 year degree required, Business / Supply Chain or related discipline preferred5+ years experience in Procurement / SCM rolePrevious leadership experience preferredKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, Tools : List MOST important requirements first.
