Key Responsibilities Abstract clinical information from medical records, charts, and documents Assign appropriate ICD-10 and / or CPT-4 codes to patient records Input and maintain data for state or other reporting requirements Required Qualifications Associate degree may be required AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or AHIMA CCS certification typically required 4+ years of related experience Proficiency in coding multiple specialties Additional credentials may be beneficial
