RN Cardiac Testing
The Cardiac Stress Registered Nurse works in partnership with providers and other members of the care team to perform cardiac stress testing. The RN assesses each patient to ensure proper care during procedures, provides clear post procedure education for the patient and family members.
Job Responsibilities :
- Acquire patient history and assess patient's needs and determine appropriate intervention.
- Initiate IV placement and administered and document medications as prescribed by the provider or established and approved order sets.
- Under the direction of the Cardiologists perform cardiac stress testing including but not limited to stress testing, nuclear and cardiac stress echos
- Explain procedures to patients and provide patient education with discharge instructions.
- Order supplies
- Initiate billing for patient care services using identified processes, procedures and software.
- If applicable, must function as testing personnel under CLIA1988 regulations as they relate to point of care testing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements :
Minimum : Associates Degree in NursingPreferred : Bachelors Degree in NursingExperience Requirements :
Minimum : Two (2) years in a critical care settingPreferred : Significant cardiac experience, with ICU, cath lab, Emergency or Cardiac Recovery background.License / Certification Requirements :
Registered Nurse licenses eligible to practice in the state of IndianaACLS
