Job Summary
The Inside Sales Rep skillfully and assertively markets the company's services and products to his or her branch's assigned sales territory through excellent telephone sales and communication skills.
Job Functions
- Accepts incoming customer calls and provides outstanding customer service by selling products and services
- Gathers data and actively listens to prospective and existing clients by using consultative methods to fully understand their business, uncover their problems, and identify impact areas
- Creates and delivers complex, customized solutions that provide value to clients' bottom line
- Becomes a subject expert and acquires industry intelligence by researching trends and best practices, reads business publications, seeks out learning & development opportunities and utilizes internal training resources
- Maintains effective business rapport with vendors in order to facilitate proficient distribution relationships
- Drives revenue by effectively addressing the client's business needs, offering appropriate value proposition solutions, creating urgency, and closing accounts over the phone
- Manages current customer relationships through consistent follow-up
- Prospect calls to create new customer relationships
- Supports Outside Sales Staff efforts
- Works closely with Purchasing on material availability and lead time
- Works closely with Shipping & Receiving to ensure product receipt and facilitate results
- Attends periodic sales training where applicable
- Updates customer records when necessary
- Investigates and resolves customer service issues
- Project Management
- Assists with Inventory Control on a regular basis
Requirements / Experience
2+ years inside sales experienceOperating standard office equipment including MS Office applications, copy machine, fax machine, and scannerOil & Gas industry knowledge strongly preferredPlanning and managing projectsExcellent customer serviceAbility to initiate, establish, and nurture meaningful business relationships over the phoneVendor relationshipsKnowledge of production processes, quality controls, and costsMeeting deadlines and schedule restraintsDealing with frequent interruptions and changing prioritiesDeveloping effective working relationships with peers so as to work as a teamOther Information
The Inside Sales Rep may be located at each branch and reports to the General Manager. Hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, with OT as needed. Physical demands are minimal to moderate and typically require the following : 80% sitting, 10% walking and 10% standing. Lifting of supplies and material, carrying, pushing, and / or pulling is required.
None to Minimal travel required.

Training
Inside Sales training is to be carried out at any branch location necessary. The General Manager is responsible for the Inside Salesperson's training. When possible, the training will be directed by the General Manager, conducted with the assistance of an incumbent Inside Salesperson as appropriate.
The following tasks shall be initially trained on the Inside Sales function :
Accepting incoming customer calls , selling products and servicesCreating quotesCreating sales ordersPreparing and turning in orders to billingRunning reportsSupporting Outside SalesInventory ControlThe Inside Salesperson shall be trained on the following software, as needed :
