Job Description Summary Reporting to the Production Support Manager, the Virtual Production Specialist will provide technical guidance and support for Dodge College Virtual Production workflows and pipelines. This position is responsible for supervising ingestion of media assets, on-set technical guidance for LED wall infrastructures, and assisting with related media management of Virtual Production filming. The Virtual Production Specialist is responsible for delivering on-set support to students, faculty, and staff utilizing advanced tools and VP workflows for complex technical shoots including previs, techvis, virtual cameras and other related technologies. Additionally, the Virtual Production Specialist will provide configuration and technical support for associated technologies including LED wall panels, motion-tracking systems, virtual production engines, RT servers, and other related virtual production elements, materials, and tools. This position will assist with events and other duties as assigned. Responsibilities Dodge College Virtual Production Studio and Workflow Support
- Support Virtual Production on-set or remote studio sessions with students, faculty, and staff. Provides technical supervision and support of Virtual Production shoots, LED wall, operation of virtual and cinema cameras, incorporation of Unreal Engine, ingestion of VFX plates, real-time playback, and transfer of related media assets
- Maintain and support Virtual Production equipment including cameras, tracking systems, playback engines, servers, LED panels, design software, and related components
- Maintain relationships with repair vendors, schedule and track out-of-house repairs
- Service equipment as needed
- Regularly inspect and evaluate equipment for integrity, operation, and safety
- Interface and interact with Information Systems and Technology staff to support and troubleshoot related technologies, networking interfaces and protocols, system hardware and associated infrastructure
- Assist with setup of various events

Basic knowledge of functionality related to professional motion picture and broadcast production equipment including but not limited to digital cinema cameras, lenses, lighting, sound, grip and electric for Media and Entertainment (M&E) ProductionExperience with VFX and Virtual Production pipeline developmentExperience with Virtual Production and related workflows, including image capture, camera tracking, MoCap, VCam, Scanning and Simulcam technologies, volumetric capture, interactive lighting, and in-camera VFXExperience with related Virtual Production tools and technologies, including Disguise, Mo-Sys, Zero Density, Perforce, Unreal Engine, Unity, Python, Physics Based Rendering (PBR) materials, and other related emerging technologiesAbility to effectively collaborate with others in complex situations, on-set etiquette, production roles, and stage / studio protocolsWorking knowledge of media and entertainment production within the context of Virtual Production, Plate Capture and Conform, and associated On-Set Infrastructure.Exceptionally detail oriented while maintaining high volume of work with quick turnaroundStrong writing skills for communicating with supervisors, faculty, staff, and vendorsExcellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and adapt to frequent interruptionsAbility to use tact and to maintain confidentiality in both oral and written communications.Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including OutlookUndergraduate degree in film production, entertainment technology, computer science, broadcast engineering or related fieldDesired Qualifications
