Our client is a Fortune 500 financial and payments technology company, and leads the industry in innovation, scale, and service.

They are now looking to add to their team and are looking to hire a "DCIM Analyst" . This role will be based out of Tempe, AZ is 100% onsite

The DCFIS shall generally meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills :

  • A clear understanding of industry best installation practices related to fiber / copper structured cabling systems, telecommunications infrastructure, and documentation
  • Knowledge of hardware components regarding network, storage, security and carrier circuit equipment
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience working in a data center, NOC or similar critical systems environments
  • The ability to monitor and control daily service ticket activity, prioritizing multiple tasks
  • Proficiency with managing information in the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace (Excel, Outlook, Visio, Google Sheets, Chat, Docs, etc.)
  • Above average communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with strong attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge and experience with critical facilities systems / topology (Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical, and Controls)
  • The ability to work completely independently, while at times delegating task to other individuals

Summary :

The DCFIS will provide onsite infrastructure support related to the overall daily function of the data center. Essentially, the DCFIS will be an onsite custodian whose primary responsibility will be the physical and environmental health of the data center. The physical onsite responsibilities of this individual may include but are not be limited to the following : equipment audits, port audits, cabling installation, cable removal / mining, fiber / copper testing, labeling, racking / un-racking equipment, escorting customer vendors, managing infrastructure installation by others, facilities infrastructure liaison, and shipping / receiving equipment. Administrative responsibilities of this individual may include, but may not be limited to the following : Working in a ticketing system, attending conference calls, audit review, documentation of all

infrastructure / cabling links, written reports (soft), device / cable labeling, maintaining consistent communication with local staff / peers.

2. Job Profile Outline - DCIM Analyst :

Supports data center availability and reliability requirements, identifies and eliminates sources of risk to increase availability of critical IT systems. Identify interdependencies between facility and IT infrastructures and collaborate with facility management to mitigate gaps in system redundancy and ensure efficient power and Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC). Maintains an in-depth knowledge of data center environmental and infrastructure best practices. Creates and maintains appropriate infrastructure and connectivity documentation within applications such as MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Computer-aided Design (CAD) applications and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software such as iTRACS and Rackwise.

3. Detailed General Services Outline :

  • STRUCTURED CABLING INSTALLATION : Physically placing, terminating, and testing various structured media types.
  • CABLE REMOVAL / MINING Physically removing cables, patch cords and associated termination panels and connectors.
  • CABLE (LINK) TESTING : Testing of a new or existing cable link (copper or fiber). Two types of tests are performed on active links. Existing links will require a "non-intrusive" test by visual inspection to verify a device's link light connectivity. If additional testing is required, a physical ( "intrusive") test will be performed with appropriate test meter.
  • INFRASTRUCTURE INSTALLATION / REMOVAL : Physical installation, modification or removal of related telecommunication infrastructure (equipment cabinets, equipment racks, cable trays, wire management, grounding / bonding, etc.).
  • GENERAL INFRASTRUCTURE & ASSET AUDITING : Auditing of the physical inventory of general infrastructure and assets used to support the data center infrastructure.
  • MOVES, ADD & CHANGES (MACs) : Physically support moves, adds and changes related to ticketed requests. (e.g. patching devices, cable installation, or adding / removing hardware).
  • TICKETING SYSTEMS : Working in various ticketing / DCIM systems to resolve reported issues, errors, and other queries.
  • EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION / REMOVAL : Physically installing or removing assets and hardware, including commissioning, and documenting such service.
  • THIRD PARTY / VENDOR ESCORT SERVICES : Escorting third party visitors and vendors into the data center space for HDD replacements, GNOC break / fix dispatch events and other formal and appropriate engagements as assigned.
  • VENDOR INSTALLER MANAGEMENT : Verifying that other vendors onsite are following proper security protocols and industry best practices related to their business in the data center
  • DATA CENTER ERROR AUDITING (DCEA) : Visually inspecting all hardware and active devices in the data center environment and reporting as required for resolution as / when directed
  • CONSUMMABLES / SPARES INVENTORY MANAGEMENT : Managing the physical inventory of consumable and spare materials used to support the data center infrastructure (patch cords, connectors, labels, etc.) and providing written notification when new supplies should be ordered.
  • RECEIVING : Receiving equipment and / or material deliveries, transporting materials to storage spaces or the data center; unpacking (and possibly saving) boxes and conducting "secure holdings checks" weekly to ensure that we don't incur unanticipated storage fees.
  • REPORTING Reporting to DCS and the local POC any facts or circumstances that adversely impact or are likely to adversely impact the contractors performance or delivery of services..
  • MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE SCHEDULING : Schedule and supervise the performance of both routine maintenance and emergency service on critical systems, including : diesel generators, UPS systems, electrical switchgear, power distribution equipment, chillers, HVAC equipment, fire detection / suppression and Client systems.
  • Compensation : $50.00 per hour
