Overview : SimVentions is a 100% employee-owned company that has been recognized as one of Virginia's Best Places to Work. We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for Software Systems Engineering throughout the development and sustainment phases of mission planning software for aircraft and weapons systems. This position is full-time on-site in San Diego, CA.

Travel : Some travel may be required.

Clearance : An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is mandatory for this position. Selected applicants will undergo a security review and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Systems Engineering for DoD aircraft systems, weapons systems, or mission systems, focusing on design, development, integration, and system testing of computer hardware and software.
  • Expertise in decomposing requirements into technical system and software specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), presentation capabilities, and strong critical thinking and reasoning abilities.

Responsibilities :

  • Assess the capability of new features, upgraded hardware, and software to fulfill system and mission performance criteria.
  • Create, review, and provide feedback on H-60 software requirements throughout the development and sustainment phases based on program office information. This includes conducting trade-off studies, engineering approach analyses, and system implementation evaluations.
  • Provide insights regarding human systems engineering considerations.
  • Preferred Skills and Experience :

  • Familiarity with DOD Systems Engineering Technical Reviews, Systems Software, and Systems-of-Systems engineering methodologies, as well as model-based systems engineering and systems safety & reliability.
  • Experience with Mission Planning Software, DOORS®, Atlassian Jira and Confluence, along with an agile project development lifecycle.
  • Education : A BS or BA degree in a relevant Technical Discipline.

    Compensation : At SimVentions, compensation is based on various factors including experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, and knowledge. The estimated annual compensation range for this position is $115,000.00 - $175,900 (USD). This range is indicative of standard salary for the role and is one component of SimVentions’ total compensation package.
