Position Overview :
The Transportation Manager directs operations for transportation and partners directly with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Their duties include coordinating company assets and drivers locally and planning national transportation operations and strategy through collaborative relationships with third party carriers. This candidate will leverage KPI’s to determine internal and external service and cost performance. They are also responsible for ensuring company-wide compliance with the various legal obligations of interstate and intrastate shipping for company-owned vehicles.
Responsibilities :
- Partnering with internal / external production facilities, Distribution, and Customer Service
- Developing strong strategic relationships with third party asset based and brokered carriers
- Leading the Transportation team to deliver results and efficiencies
- Monitoring driver qualifications and training for company drivers
- Overseeing the daily maintenance of vehicles in the fleet
- Subject Matter Expert of TMS and proficient in the ERP system

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, manufacturing or related field preferredHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) requiredA minimum of 3 years of leadership / supervisory experience5 years of working experience in transportation preferred (Food or Beverage Industry experience is a plus)General Safety and Food Safety / Quality Requirements / Responsibilities :
Adheres to all General Safety and Food Safety / Quality SOPs and GMPs.Accurately completes required Safety and Food Safety & Quality reports and records.Communicates any known or suspected Food Safety / Quality issues to the Q.A. Manager and Department Manager.Communicates any known or suspected Safety issues or concerns to Department Manager and Safety representative.Responsible for reporting any food safety concerns or tampering with product.Attends all General Safety and Food Safety / Quality training sessions.Mentors staff for implementation of General Safety and Food Safety / Quality procedures.
