Quality Assurance Technician

Summary

Works as a member of the Quality Assurance Team in a support role to the Yupo Production operation. Primary job responsibilities include all QA activities involved in producing and evaluating Yupo products. Must have good interpersonal and communication skills to support the training function of operation personnel, responsive to manufacturing needs and requests as well as capable of clearly documenting issues and results. Strong self-initiative, motivation, and high level of accuracy to review and process data, assist in resolving operational issues timely and effectively, and support other QA members in daily activities (shared workload). Capable of working rotating job assignments including 2nd shift, weekends, holidays, and on-call support.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Believes in the “Safety First” philosophy. Complies with all safety standards. Actively participates in safety programs and is a safety advocate.
  • Promotes positive team interaction to support a unified approach to achieving company goals. This includes the ability to effectively communicate (both oral and written), receive constructive criticism and alter performance to correct deficiencies, train, be trained, work to resolve team conflicts, and proactively support other members of the team.
  • Conduct product testing and grading.
  • Conduct QA training for operations.
  • Conduct raw material testing.
  • Compile and evaluate all quality test data.
  • Operate all spreadsheet, word processing, and database software.
  • Conduct special testing in support of production issues and customer claim investigations.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment.
  • Write and improve QA operational procedures.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, have sound multi-tasking skills, be detail-oriented, and be able to prioritize multiple assignments with minimal loss in efficiency.
