Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join a fast-paced, innovation-driven team focused on developing advanced unmanned aerial systems (UAS). This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex engineering challenges and enjoys working at the intersection of mechanical design, electronics integration, and rapid prototyping.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and integrate mechanical systems for aerial robotics platforms.
- Lead the design and development of structural components and housings using CATIA V5.
- Oversee the mechanical integration of electronic subsystems, including cameras, antennas, computing modules, and robotic elements.
- Break down project requirements into actionable hardware integration concepts and lead the execution from concept through lab testing.
- Support prototype development using 3D printing and other rapid fabrication methods.
- Conduct and lead subsystem-level technical reviews and ensure alignment with project milestones.
- Contribute to the development of engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in CATIA V5 to design complex mechanical structures and aerostructures for unmanned aerial systems (UAS), ensuring precision and manufacturability.Experience in electrical packaging to ensure proper integration and accommodation of electronic components within the drone’s mechanical design.Hands-on experience with 3D printing for rapid prototyping, allowing quick testing and iteration on mechanical designs before production.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering.4–7 years of experience in mechanical concept design, preferably in aerospace or robotics.Experience working within a PLM system.Strong background in electrical packaging, ensuring proper fit, protection, and integration of electronic components within mechanical assemblies.Citizenship required.Work Environment
This position is based on-site in Moorpark, within a growing company where you will be the only Mechanical Engineer. The environment is fast-paced and innovation-driven, offering opportunities for career advancement into leadership roles as the company expands.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.12 - $81.73 / hr.
