Selectek has an immediate need to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer for a full-time position in the Bessemer, Alabama area. This company is a leading producer of electrical transformer and substation technology.

Employment Type : Direct Hire

Location : Bessemer, AL

Expected Pay Range : $75,000 - $90,000 annual salary, depending on experience .

Job Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
Minimum of 5 years of product design experience
Detailed knowledge of the limitations and capabilities of the following processes : sand casting, permanent mold casting, machining, and welding.
Experience with SolidWorks, 3D, CAD, and Finite Element Analysis
Demonstrated experience with bringing new products to market and Redesign existing products

In addition to these requirements, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as Selectek is unable to provide sponsorship or work visa documentation.

Job Details :

Manage the product design lifecycle from conception to full scale production including component design.

Document results of testing in engineering test reports and write assembly procedures for the manufacturing team.

Lead FMEA events to gain a detailed understanding of potential failure models and take appropriate action to prevent occurrences.
