Brevard County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a candidate for a full-time position in the Brevard County Public Works Department, located in Palm Bay, FL. The position is open until filled and offers a competitive salary range of $17.21 to $18.93 hourly, with actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 : 00 a.m. to 3 : 30 p.m. The role involves operating light automotive vehicles or equipment and performing routine automotive service and maintenance.

The position requires six (6) months of experience operating and maintaining light automotive vehicles and / or equipment used to maintain road rights of way (ROWs) and transportation infrastructure. Additional qualifying education and / or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Experience operating a bush hog or slope mower is preferred. Must possess a valid Florida Class B Commercial Drivers License and maintain said license during the term of employment. This is heavy physical work that involves exposure to dirt, dust, noise, fumes and odors, construction debris, water, working in and around moving traffic and machinery, and extreme weather conditions. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
