mployees in this class are responsible for implementing, maintaining systems enterprise-wide. Serves in system administration for operating and application systems or local-area-networks (LANs). Communicating and planning with team members to develop standards and operating procedures. Administration and optimization of systems to ensure high availability and appropriate resource management.

ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS

  • Standardize and automate processes and monitoring using scripting technology.
  • Install and configure software.
  • Develop maintenance, and support documentation.
  • Routinely test software for bugs and security issues.
  • Conduct high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption and establish preventive measures.
  • Create reports and documentation outlining findings and solutions.
  • Remain abreast of technological developments concerning systems software supplied by data processing manufacturers.
  • Implements systems software and modifications in an optimal manner and assures minimal adverse effects on current production and testing, and minimal impact or development activities.
  • Tests and implements special software required by the installation.
  • Documents standards for use and operation of systems software.
  • Analyzes production and testing problems to determine causes of systems software malfunctions and makes corrections, as required.
  • Provides technical support for local-area-networks (LANs) and all systems that reside on the LAN, as required.
  • Performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelors' degree. Three years of experience in information technology systems administration including creating, analyzing, and managing information technology systems are required. Additional related work experience in information technology systems administration including creating, analyzing, and managing information technology systems may substitute for the required college education on a year-for-year basis.

In particular we are looking for someone with the following skills :

1. Oracle Linux , , (OEL)

2. Red Hat Linux , (RHEL)

3. Support for Peoplesoft in OEL, installing / upgrading Cobol compiler, helping with installations and troubleshooting of PeopleTools, Oracle client software, etc.

4. User management, Storage management, Filesystem management, O / S backups, O / S network, troubleshooting, O / S performance management.

5. OEL and RHEL O / S hardening, fixing security vulnerabilities, patching, updating, upgrading.

6. Installations and upgrades of O / S in different hardware on prem and on the OCI cloud.

Desirable : 1. SAMBA

2. Satellite

3. Oracle OSMH (Service Management Hub) and / or local repositories tools to patch servers.
