Job Summary :

Reporting within the Business Transformation team of MUFG's Chief Data Office (CDO), the Risk Reporting Business Analyst works closely with stakeholders from the risk management teams as well as coordinates across Technology and Controls teams in support of delivering reporting solutions that meet the Organization's needs for accurate and timely reporting. These efforts are aligned with Chief Data Office (CDO) goals and objectives to drive operational efficiencies and scalability, reduce risk, support solution implementations, develop and enhance business process management, including but not limited to system and technology capabilities, vendor services and tools, data migration and integrity, and project lifecycle support of systems implementations, data solutions, and process redesign and implementation. This position is within a team that supports data solution delivery across the Organization, however the expected primary focus areas will be within the Risk Disciplines (Credit Risk, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, Interest Rate Risk).

Major Responsibilities :

  • Work with business partners across the Business units in the Organization to elicit high-level requirements and capture business needs.
  • Ability to collaborate with a multi-team model to understand business needs and translate the needs into business requirements for the technology teams, as well as manage the change through implementation.
  • Participate in Projects with Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and key stakeholders : from Pre-Planning to User Acceptance planning and testing (UAT), to solution Go-Live.
  • Ability to prepare and present business cases and solutions to executive management.
  • Data analysis skills and understanding of financial domain data to enable documentation of data requirements, data controls, and report requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and manage end-to-end solution implementations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the Organization.
  • Work with offshore team and assist in managing their deliverables.
  • Familiarity with reporting platforms (Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) and ability to build reporting solutions for various business teams to address their reporting needs.
  • Analyze large sets of data across multiple database platforms and business logic to ensure results are as expected.
  • Help coordinate and test that solutions are working as expected, providing solution support after go-live.
  • Clearly articulate and document business and data requirements.
  • Assesses the risks of various solutions and prioritize competing business demands.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple departments to build and maintain relationships.
  • Engage with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to incorporate usability and user interface needs when designing or implementing new (purchased) systems.
  • Proactively resolves internal customer satisfaction issues.

Additional Requirements :

  • 5+ years of Business / Data Analysis especially in Financial Risk Management areas, prior experience working with industry best practices is preferred.
  • Business Analyst (BA) experience on major projects. BA (such as PMI PBA) certification a plus.
  • Credit Risk Management experience a plus.
  • Strong SQL skills to be able to analyze large sets of data.
  • Advanced knowledge of Banking, Finance and / or Accounting.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Advanced negotiation and communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking ability and flexibility.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can work independently and take initiative.
  • Ability to understand the long-term big picture and short-term perspectives of situations.
  • A true team player and collaborator, translating prior knowledge and experience into strong and productive internal client relationships.
  • Demonstrate a hands-on approach to develop insightful, value-added, actionable analytics.
  • Strong use case, business process and systems mapping capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in any Finance or Computer Science related field.
  • Business Analysis.
  • Professional certifications a plus.
  • The typical base pay range for this role is between $141K - $180K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and / or incentive compensation.
