The Payroll Manager oversees the payroll function for OPC, GTC, and GSOC, ensuring accurate and timely processing of multi-state payroll for approximately 1,100 employees. The role focuses on compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, maintaining internal controls, and fostering positive relationships with internal stakeholders. The Payroll Manager is responsible for managing two staff members, supporting audits, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Job Duties :
Ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-monthly payroll, including employee wages, garnishments, benefits, and taxes, in compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws.
Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and compliance with approximately 145 payroll-related regulations across OPC, GTC, and GSOC.
Manage and optimize payroll systems and interfaces, ensuring functionality aligns with operational needs.
Lead and manage a team of two payroll staff, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, including Treasury, Accounting, Internal Audit, and HR, to ensure seamless payroll operations and reporting.
Required Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's degree, Accounting, Human Resources or equivalent.
Experience :
Equivalent Experience : Fourteen years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
Specialized Skills :
Licenses / Certifications : Certified Payroll Professional certification preferred, but not required.
